Dianne, I wanted to let you know I finished your book. I actually finished it over the Christmas break, but kept forgetting to tell you. Though I wasn’t your target audience, I really enjoyed it a lot. The stories were fresh and humorous, and I appreciated the fact that you were very open with your thoughts and feel…ings as you navigated the difficult world of online dating. I doubt too many people would have stuck their neck out like that.
I gave the book to a friend, who also enjoyed it. She is recently divorced and is only just starting to think about dating men.

Christmas is upon us…Wow, is it just me, or do the years just go by faster and faster? This has been a roller coaster ride the last couple of weeks with the debut of Kissing Frogs in Cyberspace. As I was looking back on my journey, I came across a few excerpts that didn’t make it into the book for various reasons. This was an email sent to me from a prospective suitor. Enjoy, and get your shopping done!
To listen to some women whine and complain about how they search post after post and yet can’t seem to find anyone worth dating!
Girl, PUH-LEASE!
Here before you is a man who:
* Has a bachelor’s degree, a job, his own apartment, and substantial savings;
* Doesn’t smoke or do drugs;
* Speaks Spanish and French;
* Has traveled quite a bit;
–AND–
* Wants to be a dad.
All I want is a white, Hispanic, or Asian woman, 23-38, who:
* Was BORN a female;
* Doesn’t smoke or have cooties;
* Is not too tall, short, thin, fat, or ugly;
–AND–
* Actually LIKES to have be with a man…
Of COURSE, that’s you, silly goose! That’s 71.375% of the female population! SO WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR PROBLEM? Get back to me, already, for crying out loud. Come on, take a chance; write me something nice. Please, baby. Please.
Now, had I been Goldilocks, I think he and I would have made a great match….or a silly goose. Being that I am not either, I moved on.

Hello!
It is 2:21 a.m. and my cat is on my lap making this difficult to type. Since the launch, I have had a number of successes, and a number of disasters. Those make the best stories though. First, I have been pimping my book all over town. I feel like I should have a trench coat on and flash people as they walk by…pssst…wanna buy a book?
However, the best has come from a recent development. As part of my self-promotion I pretty much emailed any and all people I have ever been in contact with….including the ex-boyfriends. Let’s just say the fiancee of one said ex-boyfriend wasn’t too thrilled about that. She told me she would send me “ten dollars” if I never contacted him again. For a moment, I thought…hmmm a sale is a sale…but then told her to keep her money. And I gracisouly wished her the best…People are funny aren’t they?
Nontheless, the book is getting great reviews, and I am so happy you have become a fan. I hope you all have a very happy holiday and look for more posts….but hopefully, not written at 2:30 in the morning….=)…

I’ve been a high school English teacher for thirteen years, so my weekends are filled mostly with grading papers on Shakespeare and Earnest Gaines. That doesn’t leave a girl much time to date, even though I live in the Bay Area. Supposedly, one of the top five places in the United States to meet men. In my online journey I’ve gone out on 83 dates (yes, I counted), and nearly all of them run the gamut between bearable and embarrassing. My memoir takes the reader on my journey as I try to find the one person who will complement my life, not complicate it.
